This year marks the amazing 15th birthday of the nursery. As a way to celebrate our success we are holding a week’s worth of events to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society whilst having lots of fun.
We are launching into our week’s events we a bunny themed day asking everyone to come dressed as bunnies and bring their own cuddly bunny. Throughout the day we will be learning about bunnies and make some fantastic bunny art such as pop up bunnies.
Being based is swadlincote we wanted to celebrate everything swaddie! So our duck themed day celebrates the favourite caption Ay up me duck! The day will see everyone dressed as ducks or wearing yellow plus taking part in some amazing activities such as duck races, rocking duck art plus taking a look at pictures of swadlincote etc
Today is celebrating our nursery uniform colour red and we will also be taking the opportunity to talk about how colours help us. In addition to this we will also be making traffic lights and going on colour hunts.
Today we are preparing for our party as the different ages create party cakes that will then be judged by our parents. We will also be dressing in our aprons and making a variety of delicious baked items to sell later in the day.
We are dressing in our party clothes for the grand party. We will be playing traditional party games, learning party dances and making party hats. The day will end with a party tea.
In addition to all this amazing fun there will be a variety of fundraising activities such as guess the amount of sweets, name the bunny, guess the staff member and a raffle with amazing prizes to be won.
On Thursday 16th August we will b holding a sports themed day.
The day is aimed at promoting healthy living. Throughout the day we will be learning about the importance of healthy eating, the need for exercise and learning more about how our bodies work.
During the day the children will be taking part in fun activities such as egg and spoon races, obstacle courses, boot camp exercises and making a yummy fruit salad. We will also take the opportunity to explore how our pulses change before and after exercise and learn the names of different parts of our bodies as we label an outline of a life-sized friend.
To enter into the spirit of the day would like to ask everyone to come dressed ready for action in his or her sports wear.
So Ready. Steady. GO!
On Thursday 25th May 2017 we will be holding our very firs Muddy Puddle Walk Day to raise money or Save the Children.
