The children at Children at Chuckle Bunnies Day Nursery and Preschool – Swadlincote have been going barking mad as they raise money for a local Guide Dog charity on Wednesday 16th March 2016.
The 45 children aged between 6 months and 4 years turned up ready for a treat of a day in their doggy outfits to raise money for the blind dogs. The children had bags of fun with a range of activities from hunting for their bone, to doggy obstacle courses, which the children really got stuck in with. There was also a special visit from someone from the dog’s charity to talk to the children.
Emma Cotton, Nursery Manager said, “The day was an amazing success, the children had lots of fun getting into the role the role doing doggy rolls and the older children were fascinated learning how the dogs helped the blind. There were lots of giggles as children took part in the doggy agility course and as they led one another blindfolded around the nursery. We are very grateful for the parent donations and the effort they put in to create wonderful costumes. With our best paws forward we were able to raise money for this wonderful local charity, which a previous parent of the nursery has set up.”
One of the Photographers from the Burton Mail came and took lots of photos of all involved. Below is a photo of the Story in the Burton Mail and then some of the photos which we took at the time. We hope you enjoy them.
